What is AI?

  1. Definition: AI is intelligence demonstrated by machines, unlike the natural intelligence displayed by humans and animals, which involves consciousness and emotionality. https://builtin.com/artificial-intelligence
  2. It is not the product of organic system and not made by biological materials
  3. To Kinho, AI prefers to be synthetic (still man-made) rather than artificial (artificial is not real)

Distinction between artificial and synthetic

Turing test:

What is a turing test ?

  1. A test of a machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behaviour equivalent to, or indistinguishable from, that of a human. Turing proposed that a human evaluator would judge natural language conversations between a human and a machine designed to generate human-like responses
  2. Problem of machine: machines can fool the judge by pretending to behave that way but in their mind, their thoughts are different.
  3. Communication with machines
  4. Consciousness:

-How can we know someone is conscious or not ? We cannot know the consciousness of one about themselves though we can do that ourselves by a stimuli, stimuli makes us response, which can ensure we are not in a stimulation (like a dream)

-Whether machine has consciousness ? No way for you to know this

-Assuming that all people have consciousness and we behave relatively as what we are conscious. Is this possible for machines have the same consciousness ?

  1. Emotion:

-Do people around you have emotion ? Are those emotions real because they can behave in a certain way to fool you ? I am not sure, it depends

-Do machines have emotion ? I do not know but they totally can pretend to be to fool human
